In 2020, the Hartland community voted overwhelmingly to invest in the future of STEM education by passing a bond that allocated $1.4 million toward the construction of a dedicated Robotics Center. Completed in 2022, just in time for the fall competitive season, the facility now serves as the beating heart of Hartland Robotics.
Located in the Hartland Educational Support Services Center (HESSC), he Robotics Center provides a professional-grade environment where students design, build, and compete at the highest level. It is home to our high school FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team and middle school FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) teams, and it also supports our broader K–12 robotics program.
Our Lower Elementary (FIRST LEGO League Explore) teams store their kits and materials in the Robotics Center, using Hartland Community Education classrooms just down the hall for their weekly team meetings. This connection allows our youngest builders to be immersed in a space shared with older student teams—sparking inspiration and fostering mentorship.
2,500 sq. ft. Fabrication Shop
Purpose-built for machining, assembly, and bench testing, this space is where ideas become reality. Students gain hands-on experience with real tools and industrial-grade equipment.
2,000 sq. ft. Annex
A flexible build and test area that houses two FTC fields during the fall season and transforms into a full-size FRC field in the spring—providing teams with the space to practice and refine robot performance under real match conditions.
500 sq. ft. Tech Room
A dedicated instructional space for CAD design, programming, strategy discussions, and workshops.
Our shop features the same tools found in professional engineering and manufacturing environments, including:
Tormach 770M CNC Mill – for precision machining of small, complex components
Kewl 4'x4' CNC Router – ideal for cutting large flat panels and structural parts
Jet Lathe, Sander, Bandsaw, and Drill Presses – robust tools for shaping and fabricating metal and plastic parts
Bambu Labs X1 Carbon 3D Printers – rapid prototyping with high-performance materials
Dedicated Paint Booth – for finishing and custom branding
From strategy sessions to machining custom parts, the Robotics Center provides a professional and inspiring environment where students develop real-world technical skills—and a deeper passion for engineering.
